The long awaited Gran Turismo 15 year celebration event took place today at Silverstone Racing circuit in Northampton. 80 Journalist’s were invited to hear what was going to be a press release about the future of Gran Turismo and GT6 the game.

What we found out was this!
GT6 will definitely be a Playstation 3 game, and we can expect the game at Holiday 2013. That would suggest they are talking about the USA thanks giving holiday which is in November.
What we do know is there will be 1200 cars in the game, we do not know if the game will launch with 1000 cars and then add 200 by DLC. There will be 77 tracks in the game, and there will be social features for mobiles, tablet and PC applications.
However Sony has stated that Gran Turismo will always be exclusive to Sony.

Drivers of the Toyota GT86 will be able to see their Silverstone laps in Gran Turismo. this is done with a new GPS data logging feature.
Polyphony Digital the makers of (Gran Turismo) have stated that Manufacturer relationships are now a very important part of Gran Turismo.
There will be a facility that enables the user to create tracks from their favourite drives or routes, with a NEW GPS feature.

GT6 will feature a completely new rendering engine for the graphics in the game, also the menus in GT6 will be much faster and smoother. Another part of the game that has undergone a revamp is the Physics engine, new suspension, tyre and aerodynamics modelling. Suspension companies like KW have helped in the new modelling and Yokohama have lent their input to the tyre reworking.
Compared to GT5 the GT6 cars will look much more true to life, and will be seen to react in a more realistic way.
Players will also be able to create their own personalized cars within the game.
There will be an ongoing DLC for GT6.
The long awaited more custom parts option is being included in the new game, and there will be more aero parts options along side lots more wheels to choose from.

On the track side of things there will be 33 locations with 77 tracks available and there will be more tracks provided monthly by DLC.
All the people out there that are budding Herman Tilke’s have not been left out! There is a new course maker coming with scenery that can expand several tens of square kilometers. they topped that of with a new course generation algorithm.

We are also looking at a first in the sense of community and race clubs online features! Also we will get more control over player’s online events. The ability to create your own racing series and online championships will be available.

We are to get a new user interface, that focuses on quick response and shorter loading times. There will be a balance between directional keys and touch operation.

Kazanouri Yamauchi (Creator of Polyphony Digital and the GT series) has said we would like to show more, but have to keep something back for the upcoming E3 show”. All I know is from the sound of things, Polyphony Digital just kicked all the other Racing games/simulators right into touch! Roll on November and GT6.

Well I feel pretty sure 90% of your friends list will be playing GTAV when it releases.

I’m posting this video with Max, Tara and (THATDUDE) talking about the latest Rockstar video release on the web with the knowledge of having played GTAV themselves.

I’ve been a fan of the Gran Turismo series since I first realized the realism of in the game, I’ve played every version and enjoyed them all. GT5 was pretty bloody amazing. I remember when I first installed it with the long install and load times which kind of felt fitting. Yes there were times when I just wanted to jump in but also the wait mostly felt like it was put there to slow you down allowing you to enjoy every little detail in the game. I guess what I’m trying to say is playing GT5 felt like an event and not just another game.

After a little time with GT5 I started a league and and ran it for about a year and throughly enjoyed it but at times it became a lot of hard work. It’s this experience which has lead me to writing this, my GT6 PS4 wishlist.

First and foremost I think GT6 NEEDS! to have a built in user created league system. A system which allows anyone to create a league and make it open but also takes information straight from the game and populates the league web page with all the details of each race,
Fastest lap
Penaty points
Times cars touched
Player points
Player league points

Doing this in serious leagues means all these details show up on the drivers licence card or profile to allow the GT6 community to see if racers and clean and fair or dirty and conniving. Imagine being able to log in to the GT website and see your name in your league on the position table.

As the PS4 will have built in streaming features it would only make sense that the league races be able to be streamed on the league website page to allow spectators to watch the race live or replayed even though they can’t access their console.

Another nice thought one of team racing. Being able to create a team/league logo design and place it on your car would be a nice way to show your allegiance to your league.

No profile point system max. One thing that annoyed me was reaching level 40 in GT5 and then not really being rewarded for it. One thing gamer’s love more than anything is being able to use something exclusive to someone at their high level in a game.

DLC is also an imprtant aspect and one which I think GT5 could have done a lot better. I know it takes months to make each track and car but if they can start releasing DLC only a few months after releasing GT6 I think that would help keep alot more people playing and paying from the very begining for possibly years.

Other Ideas:
Please get Top Gear (TV Show) to compare the new GT6 with a real life car and track again. I really expected to see GT5 feature on Top Gear but it didn’t. Also Kazunori Yamauchi needs to be a star in a reasonably priced car.
